The Bride's Father's Responsibility

Father of the Bride's Responsibilities/Duties:

6 months to go

If you are contributing financially to your daughter's wedding then this is the time to get together with the happy couple and the grooms parents to work out who will pay for what.

1 month to go

Hire a tux or suit. Go for the fitting, pay a deposit and arrange to pick it up.
Write a reception speech.

The day before

If your daughter lives at home and is moving out spend the day with her. May be doing things that you did when she was a little girl

On the day

Travel to church with bride
Escort bride in the Processional
Give bride away
Witness or perform signing of register
Participate in the Recessional, escorting the groom's mother
Leave for reception with groom's mother, after the couple and before the guests.

Reception duties
